Sometimes it’s great to work on multiple (around 3) projects and shuffle around them to refresh yourself rather than focusing on one work. It’s important to work on one project for some time before switching on to the next - the time depends on the kind of project. Usually, you’d want to make one significant impact before moving to the next project.
Make sure the other projects are slightly different, but not too much.
It’s important to create an environment that inspires you to work. Apart from making your environment nice, tidy, and appealing, there are two main factors that help you work from home, or work better:
“You want to setup a space that is only used for work, and then have another space used for relaxation. The surroundings that we put ourselves in have a certain amount of influence over our psychological states, and in the choices that we make. So you have to make sure your brain doesn’t work too hard against your environment to stay on task.” - Thomas Frank
Secondly, you have to be cut off from distractions that might divert your attention. This could be anything from emails to friends randomly appearing in your room.
If you don’t have dedicated space to work, you can create a temporary environment that serves that purpose. For example, you can take your laptop to another room or setup a temporary desk, that acts as your work environment. After your work is done, make sure to come back and into your relaxation zone.

It is also important to setup your computer and have blockers enabled so that you can find an inspiring and less distracting space on your computer.
You could be laid off from your job tomorrow. In 2023 and moving forward, it’s best to work on multiple income streams, no matter how small. Be thoughful about the time spent on the tasks and prioritize on the most important tasks/streams.
